I drive a 03 9-3 2.0T

Nearly every time I put my Fob in it tells me steering wheel lock malfunction and won't let me turn the fob to start the car.

Things I have already tried:

Testing the battery, its only 2 years old, I had it tested and they said the battery was good.

Tested the alternator, it was good.

Changed out the ignition ( the part you put the FOB in ) and the wires. Still had the same problem.

Any ideas on what could be causing this problem?

If I take out and reinsert the FOB 3-4 times the warning goes away. Or if I disconnect the battery and hook it back up. It goes away,,, It's pretty annoying....

Do both the FOBs act the same way? If you only have one FOB and it fails, it can be very expensive to fix... Ron
I only have 1 fob right now, I want to get another before mine completely fails but there is like 900 on back order and it will be a while before I get one :(

Do you think is the FOB causing this? I have another FOB but it came from a parts car, can they reprogram it to work on mine?
