I have a 1986 Saab 9000 turbo, and when you turn the key in the ignition, the engine turns over, but has a very hard time starting. It might turn over for 2 minutes or longer before starting (the battery has died from this before). after it is running, the idle goes up to about 2500 and then steady drops until about 500rpms, and stalls, unless I give it gas. after it has been running for a while, or I start it again, it seems to start easier, and eventually it idles normal. Ideas? the car had sat for a long time (2+ years), and never got a tune-up afterwords.

Someone told me that I could have water in the gas tank, and should replace the fuel filter and drain the tank. How does that sound to you guys?
