I drove my car into work this morning with no problems. Went out to lunch and when I tried to start the engine, it wouldn't start. I tried it a couple times and I can hear the starter trying to start it but no luck. Then finally after about 6-8 tries it started. But now my check engine light is on. Any ideas on what it could be and/or how to check it?

Roughly, I'd say either the CPS and or the DIC(most likely)
CPS = crank position sensor
DIC = Direct Ignition Cassette.
More roughness ...plenty of fuel but no spark = emissions = CEL.
Do the full battery/charging system service
Bring the maintenance up to date
Then do the troubleshooting(have the CEL codes read, ect...).
Hard to test the DIC, many here carry a spare.
