96 900SE conv...
90% of the time after i fill up gas tank- I'll drive for about 2 or 3 minutes and then all of a sudden the car just starts stalling out...it will restart but unless i am giving it gas it will stall out again....will not idle without stalling.... then after a couple of minutes of this the car goes back to normal...the problem never again arising until I refuel again...
I am not letting the gas level get too low before refueling but still encounter this problem.
I am filling up the tank every time I refuel.
Can anybody clue me in on what this problem is?

There is a good chance air can't get into the tank, so a vacuum forms and the fuel pump can't supply enough gas.

When the car stands for a minute or two, air slowly gets in and you can drive off. When the tank is over 95% full, the float valve keeps the normal vent closed, and air has to get in through some kind of one-way valve at the filler neck. If that is plugged, you are out of luck.

If so, it will not happen when you fill up to 90%.
