Just wanted to pass along what appears to be the solution to a problem that many have shared on this forum:

Engine stalling at stoplights and rough running after a fillup.

I took out the crowbar, opened up my wallet and bought a new Evap purge valve from Rock Auto -- Bosch Part Number 0 280 142 301.

Took about two days to get to me via priority mail. Then about 5 minutes to swap parts. Now, over a thousand miles later, I haven't stalled at a stoplight and filling the tank is event free.

Thanks to those who previously posted their experience with this issue.

Hmmm...

Out of curiosity, was the valve stuck open? If it was, you would get a big whooshing sound when you removed the fuel cap,,, Ron
I don't remember the whooshing sound... And, I don't think I'll put the old one back on to check. This will forever remain a mystery (hopefully, that is)...

On second thought, I have the old valve on my desk. Seems closed to me, so I would assume that it was stuck shut, or at least was slow to open.
