1993 Saab 9000 griffin.

My very silly mistake, even worse given I thought about it.
I have triggered my SRS light by messing round with the instrument panel in the car.

My question is, has any one found a way to reset these.
Last time it happened, I had 1200km return trip to the agents to get it reset.
No one near me could do it.

Alternatively, has anyone bought a Tech 2 system from Aliexpress or similar, that will connect to the early 9000s.
They do not have the OBD2 style port with one connector, rather they have two connectors under the RF front seat.

I think the 93 used the ISAT and diag connector, but I'm a noob with the diags at this point. ODBI didn't start until 1994 in NA, I'm not sure about EU or UK. I've been looking at a clone Tech2 with the older Saab card. Based on my searching it seems that there is one specific software version that will work fully and it's not the latest version the China clones are shipping, you have to seek out a legit old card. There's a full thread on the Tech2 clone:

Might be something in the service manual. I cloned one I found a couple weeks ago. A LOT of huge PDFs.

Goodness.
Whether it is any help on this or not, that is one useful post and item.
Thank you.

Many thanks.
Ignore my question, (duplicated accidentally) in Tech 2 Clone.
On AliExpress there is one unit that has a similar plug, but only 1. Not the two pin "engine" plug. Maybe that unit might do it. Could save me a 1200km round trip!!

You need only 1 connector.
You have to connect TECH2 to body (green) connector when you check tex airbag.
You have to connect TECH2 to engine (black) connector when you check engine.

Thank you. It looks like the one in my link. But it says for Saab it does 1998-2012.

98-12 is OBDII and for the v143 software you can choose when it's shipped. It won't work with the 97 9000 or older Saab models. You still have to find the v44.000 software card for those. The pic for both shows an ODBI connector so you should be good there. In the description it states it works with ODBII and ODBI. Again, with those cheap kits who knows what you will get until you open the box. Most of them will ship from HK regardless of which web site you buy it from (including eBay). I already bought the v44.000 card for my car. I'm just saving cash for the Tech 2. Not something I want to waste $ on but I can also use it on my 2012 GMC Canyon. There is no one near here that has an ISAT or older Tech 2 Saab software. I have a $350 Bosch scanner so I don't really need another ODBII system. Ugh.

Great. Thank you to you both.
And that is my issue too, no one here in the tech field has one.
As I said before, closest is 600km away.

On the pre 2001 9-5 the SRS light would reset itself after about 20 successful driving cycles ie if the fault is not seen during those driving cycles.
Might be worth seeing if the 9000 behaves the same...just a thought.

The correct connector is a 10-pin ODBI for the 9000. That kit looks like it may have the ODBI included but you never know what you'll get with clone kits. This kit is currently on sale and includes the ODBI and ODBII. You will still need the 44.000 software card for it. Don't get the SAAB card with it, it's v143.

Many thanks.
I messaged them asking about the 44.000 software. So far no response.
Do you, or mimmi know where I can source a copy of the 44.000 software.
It would be really great to have, I have asked the Aliexpress guys too. But no help there yet.

I bought a Tech II from Aliexpress. NZ$489.05.
148.000 SW included as a gift.
44.000 SW cost me NZ$160.00 approx.

If it works as I expect it should be good.

I note the 44.000 card also does the 900, is that the C900, I imagine it is.
I did not realise Tech 2 connected to the C900.

44.000 card contains c900 from 1990 to 1994 (cv only, others 1993) and gm900 from 1994 to 1998.
Also 9000 from 1988 to 1998.

In 148.000 card you have 9-3 from 1998 to 2012 (not NEVS 2014) and og 9-5 from 1998 to 2010 (not ng 9-5).

Do you know where the connector would be on a 92 C900S LPT vert?
