I searched and found a lot of discussions of plug gaps and so forth. A lot of information or misinformation as to the type of plugs, what type (they say NOT to use iridium)....

So my question is, what is the plug to run on a stage 3 2.0T (2008) and at what gap?

Brand and model number will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What plugs are you using right now? If you get misfire with stock plugs, try narrowing the gap. If that doesn't work, you might need to run iridiums. I don't understand why people have been complaining about the plugs breaking apart in their motors? I think these people have other engine issues and it's not the plug. Eg. A lot of people have been having problems with Denso Iridiums. I installed them about 5 months ago, have a tune and haven't had any issues whatsoever.

Car is bone stock, plugs are from 03/2009 so Im running the stock Saabs. Dont know exactly which ones are they. I'm installing a 3"DP and 2.5 dual catback. Gonna be running BSR 3.

Ive also read alot on the forums about problems with Denso Iridiums, and almost everyone says dont run iridiums... I dont understand why.

I have checked the AC-Delco branded double platinums, they're 4 bucks each and have a 5 year warranty....

So Im lost, too much conflicting information out there

I know they are copper.. ;) :cheesy:

Unless you want to waste the $$ on some NGKPFR7T-10G (one heatrange cooler than stock (NGKPFR6T-10G), not sure if they are even available. Have to swap them earlier than factory so you waste the lifetime/cost balance there.

My plugs were gone @ 50K stock, cracked in half.

I run NGK BCPR7Es @1.0mm in all the tuned SS we have around here.
Nick, thanks for the information on the phone today. I called in regards to the Nordic stage 2 tune and the issues I was having. You suggested the BCPR7ES plugs, and I just wanted to double check that they do fit a 2004 9-3 Arc. Most websites list it for the older '98-'02 9-3 models. I can't find it locally, so before I order online I'd just like to double check.

Thanks!

I found these at my local store, they wanted me to buy some cheap pair saying iw as spending too much money on plugs, either way i ordered them as they have none in stock unfortunately. After reading up on my receipt they are only .4mm gap for stock. I do not have any type of tune right now so I was wondering if this would work or if i should by those new wire gap tools to change them over to 1mm

seriously.

http://www.genuinesaab.com/psi/files/sparkplugsdi.htm ;) Now go swap them and :cheesy:

Local parts store should have them maybe not pre gapped (the -11 suffix) Dealer will have them too. Save you shipping. Just order by part number.
Got the new BCPR7ES in and gapped at .8mm. Took a quick spin afterwards, still feels the same. I don't have enough experience to know if it takes any length of time to notice a difference or if it should be right away.

If it should be right away, I'll have to look into other things to find the solution.
