Spark plug torque values

21ft lbs is what Saab calls for. Is this done with the crush washers new or do you torque, back out and then use the torque wrench set at 21 lbs ?

for those that use the hand tight method - once the plug is threaded in by hand , how much of a turn from a six o clock position do people go to snug them ? I’ve heard anywhere from 1/4 to 3/4 of a turn back to 6

Yes. I generally use 15 ft lbs but Saab know better lol and the crush washer must be precrushed hence the tighten/loosen/tighten

Yer on about Sparkplugs ;)
Most ALL plugs get ~20ft lbs. No magic procedures.
Just fit them and torque them down.. Once.
FYI GM specify in their workshop manuals for LK9 LSJ LE5 LNF LHU engines which are all Gen 2-3 ecotec nee Saab 4 cylinder 16 valve DOHC engines found in 9-3 Ion Cobalt and Equinox 15 ft lbs. Meh.

Of that there is zero doubt. 15-20 ft lbs ? Meh. If you choose 15 it will probably hit 17. 20 probably 22. Or more depending on who ( and how and what style tool )is using the torque wrench. Not enough to worry about here
