I am having a problem installing the caliper pad retention spring on my Saab Sonett. The manual photo is not good enough to determine the position of the spring but the photos on the Skandix website gives me a much better set of photos. The upper cotter pin seems to be split on either side of the spring tab but the lower pin locaton seems unclear. Does it also spilt or does it lie inside the groove porton of the spring?

Thanks for the response. Yes I mean the long split pins that hold the pad retension spring. I have the installed the retention springs so all is good. The upper pin bisects the tab and the lower pin rests in the groove. It seems to work this way.
