Posted on another forum also, Sonetts getting less traffic than ever!

My previous 1972 Sonett had fog lights in place of the so-called driving lights in the grill. I had the car from 1978 thru 1997 and thought the fog lights were standard issue. They served me well in Chicago area rain and snow for over 90,000 miles.

Fast forward to April 2020 and I just acquired a 1970 model. They have what I now read are driving lights. Driving lights used to mean off-road or strictly remote highway driving. Not going off-road in my Sonett, lol.

So, are these driving lights just a second set of low or high beams? Has anyone replaced them with fog lights? And I assume that would just be a bulb change/sealed beam change?

Yeah, they were never fog lights from the factory. If memory serves, they were only on at high beam because they are driving lights.
