Was driving my aero home today, very calmly when i heard a loud "KLONK" from the front.... after that it felt like I was driving with a square wheel.

It was too dark to look by the time I limped home, but needless to say it has been booked to be towed to the garage in the morning!

I hope it's not something costly.
In London? Costly is default it seems.

I'm more hoping dud clutch rather than fubar'd transmission.

Good luck, I hope you know a shop you can trust.

It's a variaty of problems.....

1) Buckled wheel.....
2) Worn diff, drive shaft wobbles like a biat**
3) Weak front and damaged gearbox mount

This is from a guy who I have used all my life, so everyting is true!

1) The wheel was probably due to teh sh**e roads and countless potholes around London. I've ordered one from Neobrothers, will be delivered tomorrow.

2) The diff apparentley does wear on these boxes? (Abbott told me this too), especially due to the added torque on my motor. It's not causing too much issues yet, but will need attenton in the future (a limi-diff apparently stops this happening).

3) Both will be replaced.

Wobbly driveshafts last for a VERY long time. If you reach under the car while it's on it's wheels and grab the shaft, there will be a scary amount of play at the tripod end. It's fine

Wobbles at the outer CV end aren't fine ;oops:

Gearbox mount collopses. Like into a heap  Not much hassle to swop.
