I seem to have sorted the problem with the cuff & solenoid control valve so the car is now holding full boost again but every nown again on gear change/comming off the throttle i get a single, quite loud pop from the exhaust.

It's not making people duck and run for cover, yet!

Any idea's?

bypass valve

No it's just off a T16s, it's starting of hoot rather than woosh so i'll prob replace it soon, i'll keep it returning to the turbo inlet rather than venting to atmosphere.

I was thinking of getting someone to follow me and see if there are any flames comming out of the exhaust, if there was i'm not sure i'd want to solve the problem:cheesy: . I guess i'll have to have a few extra manifolds and turbo's kicking about so i can replace them as they get blown apart:eek:.

So is this right in theory do you think......When i let off the throttle because the intercooler/pipework is pretty large but unrestricted flow wise, the turbo will keep on spooling for a little longer than usual, so the flow sensor plate controlling the injectors stays open for a little longer too, is that kinda right?

pop

You would'nt need air to pass the throttle plate as the injectors are controlled by the sensor plate above the filter housing.

I'm only guessing, i'll need to run it a bit more to figure everything out, maybe.

I have'nt hear anyone mention this problem before so was mainly wondering if it's another consequence of having a big intercooler with V good flow rate. As the intercoolers between the turbo & throttle plate, feasably as the volume of the intercooler & pipework is quite large, these is less restriction on the compressor side of the turbo, normally when you slap the throttle plate shut you've got loads of dead air in the intercooler & piping restricing it, but if there's not it may keep on spooling very slightly longer and keep the air sensor open slightly longer.

Then again I could be completely wrong.
