I just picked up an 03 9-5 wagon from an aftermarket dealer. I asked them if they could replace the SID panel due to pixilation issues. The dealer I bought the car from said no problem and that saab has issued a lifetime replacement policy due to the high failure rate of the SID.

I haven't verified this but it may be worthwhile to check if your sid is acting up. This also may only be valid for the US?

Let us know if anyone tries to contact their dealership about this.

Not under current recalls...

Called SaabUSA and they can't find out any info on this... Maybe dealer specific only??

Call your aftermarket dealer and have them explain what this is... Maybe the aftermarket dealer will replace it free of charge and eat the cost of the replacement.

Could be they are just swapping for reman'd or repaired units from one of the repair guys on the internet??? (Not saying they are doing this, just throwing the possibility out there).

Maybe the car is still under CPO from the dealer?
