Yesterday I reset the Trip Computer when I returned to the office and then switched off the engine. I think the SID had not completely reset when I did this and now every time I start the car it shows "Trip Computer Cleared". If I then turn the menu knob I get a blank screen and it will not show the outside temperature, speed warning etc... I have tried resetting the trip computer again but this does the same.

This looks like a software issue to me...

Has anyone encountered this or could tell me how to reboot the SID?

Well usually for me its just turning the car off and back on, or turning the radio off and on. Once it still wouldn't work for a long while (30 minutes), drove around like that with no radio  Then I parked and just turned the car off and then went to get a snack, on returning all was fine. Sometimes it comes on by itself after a small delay (1-2 minutes) of dead SID time, I usually can't wait that long so I usually just do the above.

I had the same problem and I pulled fuse 3 for the stereo & SID and left it out overnight (just pulling it for a few minutes didn't work, I'm assuming there are some capacitors which need to discharge)
