Howdy. I did a short serpentine belt replacement on my 1998 900 (minus that one pulley), but can I also do a short belt conversion on my 2001 9-3?

oh ya the short belt just bypasses the air conditioner, the short belt # is
6pk1805 belt 1805mm

A 2001 9-3 has the short belt mod done from the factory, if you're thinking of bypassing the center idler pulley. They didn't use one on the 9-3 starting in 2000. That's actually why people started doing the short belt mod on the NG900. They noticed that Saab dropped the center idler on the 9-3, and started doing the same on the NG900.
