Hi everyone,

I've got an opportunity to buy a full set of tan leather seating that would fit in my 3-door 89 16V hatchback c900, and the seating is being removed from an 86 aero/spg. I don't believe the seating arrangement changed in c900's until 1990 or 1991 but just to be sure before I commit to anything, I'd like to find out the definitive answer!

Thanks if you can help out with this.

The same person also has a full 16V intercooler kit which I plan to buy for when I graft the turbo onto the 16V n/a engine in the coming weeks!

Craig.

not to say with a welder or a little imagination this small problem couldn't be fixed fairly easy ;)

I have an 88 (Built December 88 If I remember). Front passanger seat is four bolts but drivers is only 2 which is the old style I think.

here's the 4-1-1 on this

the 86 SPG seats WILL fit your 88 3 door, as long as your 88 3 door does not have the passive (automatic belts).

generally speaking, c900 seats up to and including 1987 are all the same mounting systems. 88 and 89 4 doors are that same system, but 3 doors were a bit of a wildcard. then 1990 those mounts are back with that exact same mounting system. in 1991, the seats in all c900 models changed.

so... the question mark years. 88 and 89: 88 and 89 4 door c900 seats are compatible with the up to and including 1987 and 1990 styles.

but in 88 and 89, many US market c900 3 door models were fitted with automatic/passive belts. these 3 door cars' seats will not interchange. they had different seat frames and welded mounts.

So. If your car does NOT have those poorly designed mouse/passive belts, the 86 SPG seats will 100% fit.
