There are a few things I want to clear up

What year was the Saab/Scania badge (see below) introduced? I believe that it was 1984?

Should any 99s have this badge? If it was 1984 then no 99 should have the badge?

If both these are true there are a lot of Saab 99 Turbos getting around Australia with badges that they shouldn't have. I am looking into this at my website (focused on 99s in Australia) and as more information comes to hand I will be putting it on my site. Does anybody know why there are 99 Turbos with Saab/Scania badges?

Also does anybodys 99 (non Australian) have the Saab/Scania badge?

My 83 99GL has the small scania badge on the boot lid (trunk) next to the 'SAAB' badge

I know in America the badge was first seen on the hood of a 1979 Saab 900!

my '79 99t (2dr) has the badge on its boot, but i'm not sure it's original. i think i read somewhere (maybe here: http://www.saabmuseum.com/marque/ ) that the saab 90 was the first to have a scania badge...

The badge was introduced for the '85 model year, so this would be late 84.
