That's right, if you give em your VIN and a proof of ownership they'ss have a nw key cut and shipped for you.
But I also got one on ebay for my '96 Aero. There's a guy from AUS who uses Italian blanks and cutting machines who can cut you Saab keys providing the key code. He can even source the key code from a picture of a working key. The one that I got works perfectly.
Many professional locksmiths have the blanks, so it's not even necessary to go to ebay. Just supply them with proof of ownership, then wait 5 minutes. Then, of course, test the new key immediately - mine didn't work first time.
