I am currently experiencing some problems with my 2001 9-3 (base 5spd) 140,000 miles. It is randomly stalling out and not restarting unless you unhook the battery cable to reset the computer. Then it starts just fine. The garage, a small independent saab shop, that it was taken to could not find anything wrong with it other than low/ no fuel pressure when it stalls. When they took it out for a test drive it it stalled and would not start. They unhooked the battery to reset the computer and it started fine, fuel pressure was fine. They think it may be the ecu? The cruise control does not keep speed when going up hills, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the problem or not. It worked fine before this started happening but now it does not work correctly. No check engine light either. What are some other ideas other than a bad ECU? The car is also revving between gear shifts, it usually has a small blip but now its jumping 1000 rpms between shifts. Thank you for reading this and any ideas are much appreciated ;ol;

Not sure but just a possibility your fuel pump could have problems.

Is your gas gauge working properly??

CPS should not go after 20000 would be quite rare.

if your fuel pump is weak or has problems it could shut its self down possibly thinking that your car is out of gas (to save itself from running massive amounts of debris).

then when you reset your computer system the fuel pump security feature gets cleared and works again, this could also be your problem with slowing cruise control...

just a possibility

Yes I did. Sorry about the long absence. It turned out that that a mechanic rigged up a spring on my throttle body after he broke it and was unable to reset it due to broken plastic parts. This was not the saab shop that did this it was a different shop. I had the water pump go out on me and the day I got it back it the cel came on so I took it back and that's when my problems started. I ended up having to get a new/used throttle body.
