I have a Saab 9 3 2.0T 2004 with 154,000 miles. I started the vehicle and could not get it out of park. I turned the vehicle off than restarted it and I could put in drive and it ran well. There was a warning note that come up which said (Gear box malfunction limited performance see your Saab dealer). The vehicle appears to now be running fine With no warning message. Can anyone tell me what is going on or has anyone experienced anything like this?
Anyone want to buy a 2004 Saab 93 2.0T located in Green Bay Wi. Body great engine great?

Hi,

Well what happened is that the electronics of the transmission noticed something is not right, then it goes automatically in a special mode to prevent more damage.
Not right could be a sensor signal out of normal range.
When you restarted, the transmission saw that everything seems normal.
It could be just an incident, it also could be something is slowly failing.
I recommend to go to a Saab workshop and have the fault code pulled. Then you know what happened. And it's recommended to post the fault code here. There is tons of experience, sometime better than the "specialist".
