So i just picked up an 89 Turbo 900, and it pops out of reverse.
The guy I bought it from said that it started happenning suddenly, and after one of his friends broke the key off in the ignition.
He said that when they went in to replace the switch, they had to move around the shifter/linkage, and it didn't get put back right.
Does that sound possible?
It was a good deal on a rust-free car, so replacing the tranny isn't out of the question, but I'm hoping it's a adjusment issue!
(c'mon guys, tell me what I want to hear!)

It is possible.

However, most people have reverse popping out due to this issue:

Here are the shifter adjustment pages:

Either way, it is an easy fix! Removing and rebuilding the C900 tranny is expensive.

Could also be the front motor mount is a bit worn. Also no big deal.

Get aquainted with the www.townsendimports.com website. Lots of good stuff on there.

my 89 turbo has it, not too bad, if ride the lctuch which provides cushion in reverse to avoid any jerking. pinion wine and knackered up syncro in 2 don't make me want to fix it. join the club, GO REVERSE POP OUTS!

I'm not ready to join the club yet...
I still think it may just be an adjustment...
And flipping that bracket thing seems to be an option if that isn't it.
