I am looking to do this pretty soon. I have done a search on this site but couldnt find any good DIYs. Does anyone have any advice or tips? Do I need to pull the whole motor or just remove the tranny to replace it? Anything else I should do while I am in there? I have a 97 9000 CSE with about 188k on the clock. Thanks.

Just the tranny comes out and the flywheel comes off. Make sure you get the rear cover sealed properly when you re-assemble. The joint between the rear cover and the underside of the cylinder head is problematic.
