Hi guys,

A few months ago my the first of my DI cassette failures occurred (the 2000 v6 is not covered by the recall btw, which pisses me off to no end), and in my frustration I accidentally pressed the emergency light too hard and punched it right through the central control panel. There is now a gaping hole where my poor emergency light once was and I am starting to miss it. Does anyone know the procedures I would undertake to restore it? How would I even get to it? I tried using tweezers but they were too far in.

Thanks in advance!

Remove the SID to get access to the switch. If you remove the blank buttons next to the sid you can push it from the back.

Does anyone have pictures or diagrams of how this process works? I tried searching the forums to no avail.

Just prise the SID out from either side using a small screwdriver with some cloth to protect the dash form damage. You will then have a large enough hole to access the emergency button and repair/replace it.
