I'm in the process of replacing the rear shocks of my '93 turbo conv. I have taken all of the bolts off but bottom portion of the shock (the part with the bushing) is still firmly in place. I've tried to lift it out of the rear control arm with my jack but the only thing that happens is that the entire control arm moves with the shock. Any suggestions or is ther anything that I'm doing wrong?

I think you have to drive the bolt out with a pin or shaft.

It is a very tight fit. I'd suggest that you try prying it out with a long crow bar. Once it is out, you'll discover that its even more difficult getting the new one IN. I ended up prying the mounting flanges open a bit until it fit. Once you tighten the bolt down, it pulls it all back into shape anyways.
