I am looking for a second car and considering 00-02 saab convertible 9-3 I am looking to spend around $6000 for a car with less than 90K Miles.
How reliable are used Saab?
how often oil change?
how often the service?
can you give me examples of repair costs?
are convertibles more likely to problematic and rattle??

thanks!

these 9-3 convertibles are pretty

How reliable are used Saab? If properly maintained, they can be quite reliable. Make sure that any 9-3 of that vintage has a complete service history and that PCV rev. #6 has been installed (or get it installed ASAP)
how often oil change? I use Shell Rotella T Synthetic 5W-40 changed every 5000 miles March through November and 3000 miles November through March.
how often the service? There is a minor service or a major service scheduled every 30k miles. Plugs changed every 10-15k if using copper core, platinum maybe 25-30k.
can you give me examples of repair costs? Hard to say exactly, more expensive than Chevys, Fords, Toyotas, Hondas. Less expensive than BMWs, Mercs, etc. The key is to find a GOOD SAAB indy mechanic.
are convertibles more likely to problematic and rattle?? The convertible chassis is a bit more flexible than the sedan. You can get a "6 point brace" as an after market piece that will stiffen it up a bit. Convertible Top does add some additional potential expense as well.

thanks!

these 9-3 convertibles are pretty I agree. I think they are among the best looking convertibles on the streets even today.

Good Luck with your decision.
