My road aero has fmic, exhaust, intake mods. Have just fitted a Jak Stoll Stage 2 chip with red top injectors (cleaned and tested). Now she wont start - tries but no go, just a soft cough and thats alll. Sound like timing is way off.

Put the origional ECU back on - still no start. So must be injectors???

Any suggestions before I rip out the injectors and start again.

Try pulling the JSP chip, and turning it 180 degrees.


I also have the same problem...T5 and no start.


It was fine until tonight...

Does the engine still turn over?

I have emailed Jak and awaiting an answer.

Yes the engine turns over and tries to start.

Will go now and try rotating the chip.

Rotated the chip and:

Does not even try to start - turns over OK - worse
Check engine light comes on as soon as ignition lights come on.

The origional ECU (not JSP) acts similarily to the ECU/JSP as I had it origionally with no check engine light.

have you tried the old injectors and the old ecu?

if it still doesnt start, and both these have been refitted, then the problem lies elsewhere... maybe knocked off a connection or sensor somewhere (been there, done that.... wearing the "stupid" t-shirt as we speak ;) )

Starts and runs with standard injectors and ECU

Wont run standard injectors and JSP chipped ECU

Wont run red top injectors and JSP chipped ECU - have rotated chip and tried.


Nothing from Jak yet

Hate to ask but; what about with red tops and standard ECU?

i think the original ECU was tried with the red top injectors.

have you checked resistances across the injectors? the readings should be pretty uniform. also, compare those numbers to the stock injectors.

JSP have replied and have sent another chip - I will wait and see if this makes the difference - thanks all
