I know Genuine Saab sells rear camber shims, but can other shims be used, such as universal body shims? I think it would be important that the shims be of sturdy material (not aluminum?), accurate thickness, and would stay in place.
I read some people make their own. Anyone have a pattern or CNC code?

I looked for a pattern, but could not find one. I was thinking of making my own also as you could get the measurement much more exact and use a single shim.

You could use any material of the correct thickness - it's going between two steel plates and the torque is not all that high, so it's not like you're going to squish it when you tighten it up.

The only issue I see is that you want to avoid galvanic action.
