My radio head unit is acting up a bit. It seems as though the radio will turn itself off, with a slight pop, when I turn the ignition on.

I thought it was strange that my radio was off most of the time when I started the car, but now I've noticed that if I turn on the radio with the engine off, it's fine, but when the ignition is turned on, the radio will shut itself off.

Thoughts? Are these signs that the head unit is on it's way out?

There could be something screwy with the DICE.
Maybe a defective diode...or an under-done potatoe..
