Hi all, these past few weeks I’ve been messing around trying to get my radio antenna motor to work again and here’s where I’m at.
The old unit had a broken mast and motor was not functional (no whir, no nothin) but I did get radio signals. I replaced the whole thing with another used one I found online and after installing, it still didn’t work
. I get radio signals but antenna doesn’t budge and there’s no motor noise at all. My grandfather and I grabbed a voltmeter and checked out all the connections. We thought it could’ve been a ground issue so we spliced the ground and re-routed it so that it we could know for sure that wasn’t the issue, what we found is that power is being supplied up to the connector for the motor on the cars end, but after that nothing.
I initiated a return for the new motor but my question is should I try again with another used motor, splurge and get a new one from Eeuroparts or elsewhere, go a different route and get a manual one, or let it be and cancel the return, just living with it as I still get radio but signals are weak.
Thanks.
