I have a couple of questions regarding the 2008-2009 9-3 Convertible.

How well does the automatic transmission diesel engine hold up?

Are freon leaks common in the air conditioning system?

Are there any specific things I should know about the engine filters, i.e., is it difficult to find replacements or, for that matter, are spare parts hard to find?

Is 12000 euros too much to pay for a 9-3 1.9 with about 89000 kilometers in pretty good condition?

Quite well, depending what you are expecting.
All freon systems leak, question is how much.

TiD and TTiD engines are Alfa JTD based.

Thank you, that is very good to know. My intention with the car, a 2008 9-3 convertible with about 80,000 kilometers is to drive it for longer trips, and not city driving. My intention after I buy the car is to have it thoroughly checked out by a mechanic. Is there anything I should have my mechanic look for specifically? I really love the car, and want to keep it in the best shape. How often should the poil be changed? I've read that synthetic is probably the best, but that it is important to have the opil drip pan checked out. Thank you again for your response!

I personally change oil every year or 30 000 km interval which comes sooner.
