Is there a sealant that's recommended to use alongside gaskets, for example the intake manifold gasket? I saw a video where the person used "automotive silicone" but they didn't say or show precisely what they were using. I have a tube of silicone grease that I use for o-rings, would this be okay to use to help create a better seal with gaskets?

Additionally, is there any particular type of gasket material that's recommended to use with a 2006 9-3 2.0t SS with a B207R engine? There seem to be a few options when it comes to buying gasket material but are any of them ideal for this car/engine and should any be avoided?

Thanks.

Look in the manual and use what they suggest. Don't goop things up "just in case." The sqeezings may not go where you'd like them and it just ma be you cleaning it off when it's next apart. Some people use an adhesive gasket spray to hold things in place.

That "automotive silicone" is probably high-temp RTV aka "Black RTV."
