I ran the diagnostic auto/off on my ACC yesterday and I got 1...08. Having read the boards, I know that this is the blend door. I read the following post (and looked at the pictures):

I spoke with my indie today and he said that you get to the blend door by going through the tail pipe. From the pictures in the post above, I was under the impression that the door was under the dash. Is there more than 1 blend door? Or is he confused about what I need to have fixed?:roll:

Looks to me like this is not a very hard thing to do. Keep in mind that I am not the most mechanically inclined person. Am I missing something here?

Also...I ran the diagnostic because I am having intermittent problems with the blower. Can this be anything other than it needs to be rebuilt?

My advice to all would be to remove the pieces and physically confirm that the shaft is broken before ordering the kit. It is a pain in the *** working under the dash on the drivers side, but it didn't take too long to get in there

Turns out, my shaft was still intact. Apparently the 1...08 code can also be caused by a broken stop lever which attaches to the end of the blend door shaft

Confirm first that the shaft is actualy broken.

So my $225 blend door shaft repair kit arrived over the weekend and I went to install it today......

First, remove the lower dash piece as shown here:

When I removed it, this little piece fell out :

I then removed the motor (yellow arrow) and the vent elbow (white arow):

Once these were off, I had access to the belnd door shaft:

I think your indie was joking with you...
