I was attempting to troubleshoot my tach problem by looking into the connection for the tach in the ignition system. The Bntleys that I just received states that I should EZK ignition, but when I look where that should be my little box says Bosch. Is EZK a brand name or an acronym. The Bentleys doesn't mention anything about non-EZK in 89 & later models. could I have a holdover from an 88 model before the changes to 89?

The acronym "EZK" is the abbreviation for the German words meaning "electronic spark control." Bosch is the manufacturer of this system's components (and of many others on this car).

Every non-turbo 900 sold in the US from 1988 on has the EZK ignition system. Hope this helps:)

You can confirm this by checking the distributor. With EZK, it will have only HT leads, no vac capsule or low voltage electrical connections. It will also have a knock sensor bolted to the side of the block visible between the inlet manifold pipes.
