Anyone offer experience comments pulling an engine out the top? I've done a few pre 03 9-3's out the top. Looking for help to determine complexity and specific issues to look out for on removing a 2.0

It's possible. I'm pulling out my trans/engine as a whole from up top very soon. May require more work as you'd have to pull out the axles and mess with shift/clutch linkage but I find it easier that way for me.

I'm initially concerned about the possibility even at a steep angle. The trans has to clear the frame/mounts.

The axles need to come out at some point anyway so pulling them first is OK by me. Caution on removing both axles at once - I've heard talk not to remove both spline shafts at the same time or trans internals will loose center. Consider popping one axle out and just remove the CV joint out of the other leaving the female housing in place.
