I have a set of H&R springs to go with my new Bilstein HDs. When installing progressive rate springs, does the tightly wound end of the spring go on the top or bottom? Top being the top of the strut or the body of the car in the rear and bottom being the bottom of the strut up front or the trail arm in the rear.

you should find there,s no option

front top has a smaller dia. final coil & the bottom has a flatened wind angle to fit the strut
Rear, likewise the top has a smaller coil diameter

You are correct.

There is no option. I realized this the instant I looked at both ends of the springs. Thanks for opening my eyes to the obvious. I appreciate it.
