hi everyone!

I have 97 saab 900, automatic, 103k miles.
When in park or neutral it idles high, 1500-2000 rpm's, when in drive or reverse it's fine, about 900 rpm's. Beside this problem car runs fine, no problems, no check engine light on. What could cause this and where to start looking first?
thanks!

I wonder if this is not caused by an inoperative sensor on the transmission or at the controls.

The RPMs are higher by a hundred or more when the car is in gear...But normally this is absorbed by the box being in gear.....
Always the vacuum lines to consider..

I think this is a faulty AIC valve.

AIC is the idle control right? Is it located on the throttle body and could it just be dirty?
