Of course it is. And a first time poster selling something for money with no real description, picture, etc & an off-forum email for contact is a scam. Every. Time.
Yeah yeah yeah.
We know that - but selling vanity plates for profit is actually a thing in the British Empire.
The weirdness of that is what gets me. I see scam attempts here all day every day.

Yeah but why ask for more money than any car you’ll bolt it to is worth? That’s sort of a confidence builder right there.

Is this a scam? Maybe, given the recent join date and the low post count...it does look like the plate is also for sale here for a lower asking price through a broker, assuming that it's a poorly blurred out "12" under there: Private Number Plates | Plates4less, VRM Swansea Ltd (And why even bother to hide the numbers...odd.)
Either way, I think it's nutty that anyone would pay for custom number plate, but that's just me. Obviously there is a market. 🤷♂️
