As I near spring break (2 weeks away) I'm planning on going on trip to my buddies home in New Mexico. It's about a 1200 mile drive from school to there. We have a bunch of people going with and are taking two cars. One of them being mine.

I'm just curious what things should I check over before this trip?

There's the obvious ones like oil, coolant, and all the fluids.

Also anything I should bring along? I have spare cassette and a decent amount of tools and a spare serpentine belt.

And finally does anybody know which lift support strut at Orielly's is compatible with our cars?

when was the fuel pump last replaced?

In my opinion the only major things that have broken in my car have been because of a stage 3 tune

I always carry a tow strap, jumper cables, a gallon of undiluted antifreeze, a couple quarts of oil and handtools/wrenches. If you have a problem, the other car should be able to tow you, but I don't know if I would tow the other car.

As far as the lift strut, just pop it out and take it in for a match. I bought two at eEuroparts, and found that only one was bad, so I have a spare old one... Ron

Always have your cell phone.
Along your route, know of the good repair facilities. Fishkill Saab was one.
Have the vehicle gone over by an expert....and then make the necessary repairs...stuck more than once in the past...for not doing this.;oops:
Rather than carrying a spare belt, do the pulley bearing inspection. The belts last a very long time and are "inspectable".
