Has anyone tried to paint the grey plastic trim pieces or seen a pic of someone who has? My trim pieces are very faded and don't seem to respond well to any plastic saving sprays or creams and I was thinking I couldn't possibly be the only one with this problem. I want to paint them silver to match the body color and I found this website that claims to be able send me a paint that matches my body in a kit that is built for working with plastic, http://paintworldinc.com/kits_economy.aspx any thoughts?

They're not faded! That's how they're supposed to look on the Viggen. Greyish not exaclty black. Of course, no product will make them black due to that fact.

You can sand and paint those obviously but silver is a very tricky color. Do that at a body shop.

I know they are supposed to be grey, mine are a very very faded grey. I don't want them to be black, they would stand out, i'm trying to hide them and make the car look more sleek by painting them, I also want to paint the door handles silver, has anyone done that?

umm yes just like that. that looks so nice! you should get back to me on how much it costs and how you go about it. how soon are thinking? I was thinking of trying it myself before going to a shop to cut costs. I don't see why more people don't take that route it looks awesome! :p

This one is silver but not a Viggen and the guy didn't paint the handles

I do my own painting :cheesy: So the cost is materials only but my car is black so it will match 100%.

If you want the awsome look go with shaved moldings but that's a lot of extra $$$$$$

I threw up in my mouth a little when I saw the wing on this one.

It's a little too fast and just a hair too furious in my ever-so humble opinion.

I thought we were referring to the shaved moldings not the spoiler or any other ricey looking stuff. Those look like crap to me too and should never be on a SAAB
Sorry, we were, I just couldn't stand to see that done to a nice car and not comment on it. The mouldings do look good though. I'd love to color match my mouldings, side skirts and spoiler. I checked at PPG and I can get a quart of "271 Frost Gray" for $35 and a gallon for $90. I may make this a winter-time project.
