I'm replacing both the cv half-shafts in my 9-5. The drivers-side shaft came out easily, but my problem is the passenger-side inner half shaft is stuck inside the intermediate shaft. My question is... if there is a clip that's holding it in or is it just stuck in there? ...and if it is just stuck, how would I be able to remove it?

I assume you removed the bearing carrier on the passanger side? Its just a support mid way or so. If you did this, and its still stuck, just keep yarding on it, and it will come out. The passanger sides always seem stuck.

location of bearing carrier?

Don't assume... this is the first time doing this on a saab, and I'm not working with a manual. How do I loosen/remove the bearing carrier to be able to get the inner piece of the pass side half-shaft out? Thanks.

Look at the carrier assembley, there should be 2 bolts that hold it together. Remove the 2 bolts, and the U shaped peice will drop, then the CV is free.

I know i am not very clear on this, but if you follow the CV shaft from the wheel hub to the transmisson you will find this carrier and it shoud be clear how to remove it.
