Hi,

Just had the car serviced by a local garage (not Saab-specific). On the issue list today was the Park Assist, which more and more often is coming up with the fault - contact service message.

The garage has confirmed it is the far left sensor which is at the end of its life span. I've managed to source a replacement one (used).

The question is: is it easy to fit?

The guy suggested you can just pop them out. But looking at a Haynes manual, it suggests you have to take off the rear bumper.

Any advise from anyone in the know is greatly appreciated before I buy the sensor.

Haynes manual is correct, you have to take the bumper off (as well as taking the rear light clusters off.

It isn't as bad as it seems, I retrofitted the OEM SPA kit on my own in about an hour.

I just put a blanket on the floor, nothing was tricky or awkward.

the plastic strip is only a strip with holes in, the sensor does not clip to the strip, it clips inside the bumper shell so there is no way of getting it off from the outside.
