Checked all the P1304 threads I can find, but they all seem to head in other directions.

Driving today, running fine. Turn onto another road, and get strange vibration under acceleration. Read codes, get P1304 - misfire on cylinder 4 on 2001 Viggen.

After it cools down, inspect DIC, make sure completely plugged in, etc. didn't find anything of note. Also, new plugs and DIC about two months ago.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Found answer

So, I had a mild brainstorm ... took old DIC and reinstalled it. Misfire gone!;ol;

Now to contact vendor for return ... only about 6 weeks old.

Not at home now, but if I remember correctly, Beck-Arnley.

I sent my question about return late last night, and, even on a holiday, they responded in less than an hour! Several options, but I'll probable have to just return for a refund.

The problem is that they don't even show any DICs in their catalog right now. When I bought it, there were several, with Beck-Arnley being the brand I recognized most.

Don't know, but I'm about ready to find out!

Rock Auto was great about accepting the other one for a return, since they don't even show them in their catalog any more.

Eeuroparts.com has a swedish aftermarket, which I assume is made by SEM, but no one has reported in yet.

All other aftermarket DIC's seem to be Asian made.
