Ok this morning involved me watching TV, getting the paper and finally getting under the car with a set of ramps to check out the power steering system.
This is my first time working on a power steering system.
I was looking at the lines and think I found the source of the leak. By the rack (I think its the rack, where the two hydraulic lines enter it at an angle)there is this big rubber line, and it isn't clamped down and the end is very close to the end of the fixed part it goes onto. Also it appears to be incredibly brittle and is damp with what I guess is the P/S fluid. Could this be the culprit?

I found the thick rubber hose shaffed on the engine, just replace with normal hose as its not a pressure hose.
