Outdoor temperature sender location

I finallay got hold of the correct sender for my SAAB-branded outdoor temperature gauge. Other outdoor temperature senders I have seen are sold with a cable and are easily fastened with a single screw. However, this sender is obviously intended for mounting in a pre-drilled hole and has no cable. I guess it may have m10 x 1 threads.

So where do I mount this sender???

My OAT sender is mounted under the bumper on the LH side, outside the airflow.

You have to put it behinde "bagved" the bumper. If you put it so the wind can get to it, then the wind will do so, that the sensor will say its colder than it really is. Wind makes it colder!

Back from a holiday trip. Thank you for your answers so far.

However, as I wrote this sender is made for mounting in a pre-drilled hole. And I cannot find this location... The VDO part number is 323 087 "Outside temp sender". It has a brass housing with an electrical connection with a small nut in one end and threads (but no nut) in the other end. Not unlike a water temp sender. And it is thus obvious that it should be mounted in an exisiting threaded hole which also will serve as the ground connection.

Does anyone know the exact location of this hole? Pictures? I cannot find it...
