So I started twittering just to see how it goes... at first I thought it was really lame, only pornstars were following me, or people who only wanted to bombard me with ads, and then I started to find people with similar interests, and people who didnt bombard me with crap, and its a pretty cool place.

I'm following swade at saabsunited, some other saab news people, i dunno, only following 15 people right now, im not sure i'd want to follow more unless they are my friends.

You can tie it right into facebook too, updating my twitter status updates my facebook at the same time, and because i can text my status to twitter from my phone It updates my facebook too

And this is my favorite part, If i find a cool song or something theres this thing called http://twt.fm/ and it lets login with your twitter login stuff, you search for a song and it creates a link to it right on your twitter status / facebook status super easily, & keeps track of the songs you have found to go back to later... I'm sure theres add-ins for videos, theres some for pictures too. Good for sharing stuff.

Any other saabcentral users on twitter?

@RITmusic2k chiming in ~

Much like you, I just got into it after a couple years of hesitation... I've always been an early adopter of technologies, but for some reason I have a history of hesitation when it comes to social networking. I was late to AIM, to facebook, etc.

But, just as every instance before, once I gave in I immediately saw the value of it. But it's definitely dependent on figuring out the right way to use it... and that's different for every person.

For me, I follow a couple people that generate news I'm interested in, and a couple close friends. When I post, it's sometimes a status update or a location or a cool picture, and sometimes it's just random thoughts, but all of it goes through my 'creative writing' filter: I won't post anything if I can't manage to make it entertaining. In that regard it makes for a great practice tool. If you can get something witty to fit into 140 characters on a regular basis, that's more impressive than barfing out a 500 word essay and hoping the occasional phrase sticks in the mind of the casual reader.

To pare that down to a tweetable size: Twitter is a creatively microblogged window into the more fanciful corners of my mindscape.

@ferkle1980 I mostly rant about cricket, biking, IT woes and occasionally Saabs - if there is more of a Saab following, then more related tweets are likely, mostly including sightings I would imagine.

Microblogging FTW - because I am too lazy to (macro?)blog...
