I can't decide if I like the light grey strip across the rear hatch of my sportcombi. I am thinking about painting it. Making this decision easier is that the original strip has some marring and rustlike spots on it from the factory (if you look close enough).

What do you guys think?

1.) Don't paint it, it will look stupid
2.) Paint it Gloss black, like on European base model sportcombi's
3.) Paint it to match the color of the car (Titan Grey in my case)

Cast your vote.

Don't paint it, it's a nice accent color and it adds some class to the car. I have seen the black strips on European models and it just looks cheap imo.

I have the same color SC and I like the strip. It is hard to keep looking nice however. I would be tempted to try to replace it with brushed stainless or aluminum (or maybe anodized aluminum).

If you do make a change please post some pics!

Thats a good idea. I agree it always looks like crap. It really shows fingerprints and waterspots unless it has just been cleaned.
