Dished out to me as if it were a nice little dessert...she (my wife) says, "my
cars broke". Bad enough I've got the flu and it's pouring rain outside. What
I really need to do right now is troubleshoot some POC problem that's buried
deeper in the bowels of Sweden than I'd like to travel. So here it is...I need
to replace the ECU on a 2003 9-3. I understand that it's behind the kick
panel on the passenger side. I look in the forum on how to remove the kick
panel, only to discover that the car I'm reading about, might be RIGHT HANDDRIVE. People with these cars should only be able to read the posts and not do any actual posting, as they confuse the hell out of me.
So then, does anyone know for sure, on a LEFT HAND DRIVE 9-3, which
panel is the ECU behind? Passenger on the right side (as they should be), is
it the panel next to the left foot or the right foot. Once that is determined,
I need to know how to remove the panel.
I need to get to the ECU to get the part number so I can get the right part. No, I don't plan to change the part myself as I don't have the want
to learn how to deal with "flashing" the data over to the new unit. I also
want to have everything exposed for the shop so they don't have some
guy twirling the jaws of life, shred the interior... I'm done venting
Thanks

Are you talking about the new body style 2003-up 9-3? If so, the ECU is located in the engine bay under the plastic engine cover near the front.
