Is there some kind of trick to get the rear oil seal out behind the flywheel...I've searched for an answer on here...but cant seem to find one...I've got a seal puller, but i'm really afraid I'm gonna bang up the metal casing holding the seal in.

Any advice is appreciated....as I'm currently stuck until I can figure out how to get it out.

Don't be afraid, just pry the thing out.

That's what I would usually do...but I can get a grip on it with my puller...I was thinking I could drill a pilot hole in the seal and put a screw in it and pull it out

That was going to be my next sugestion, just don't let any swarf go into the hole. Grease on the bit may help.

and the screw worked....now getting the new one back in...gotta figure out what kind of homemade apparatus I can conjure up...maybe not as complicatd as this one::lol:...but along the same thought process

When I need to make a seal driver and can't find what i'm looking for in the steel rack at work I head off to the local hardware store with my seal and tape measure. I usually head for the plumbing department, but have found seal drivers in the kitchen-ware dept. too ( it was a small metal mixing bowl that time, perfect):cheesy: .
