I accidentally ripped that wire while I was wrestling to unscrew the hardly accessible and very rusted screws of the voltage regulator. So obviously my oil pressure sender is not going to work now and I wonder how does that affect the car and how to fix it?

It won't affect the car but you won't know if you lose oil pressure. You should be able to crimp on a new spade connector and just plug it back into the sender...
