Just wanted to pass this on to you leaky guys. For the last couple of years I have noticed a 2" wet patch of oil on the ground under the engine every morning. Ok; I am talking about the 100,000 mile Audi A4, not the Saab, but the message is the same - it stopped leaking when I started using Castrol High Mileage 10W40 oil! I used to use regular oil. The leak was not coming from the filter joint (it was in an area that was difficult to get to so I don't know if it was gasket or seal related) so I have not changed anything to affect it other than the oil type. Castrol advertizes that it has seal conditioners to plump up the seals - seems it works!

The leak from my rear main seal stopped when I switched from 5w30 to 0w40 M1. No idea why. I now just get slight seepage in the area, but nothing that touches the ground.
